Much has been written about new and social media influences as impetus for this social change, and I'm not sure I completely agree, at least as much as I want to. If I do agree, I think I subvert the power of those in Tahrir Square who were not empowered by devices, but instead motivated by being fed up, by starvation, by a no-alternative position that things must change. These people are writing the history of their country, it just happens to be social media as their papyrus in a square named Liberty.
